An Authentic Audience
The most important aspect of this PBL model is the opportunity for students to present and share their ideas with a true and authentic audience. This is where schools and communities come together for the purpose of helping our youth accomplish more than they could on their own.
We need your help.Who we are looking for: We are looking for any person that can give authentic and meaningful feedback to students about their innovation ideas. We are specifically reaching out to professionals in the fields of engineering, physics, intellectual property, patent law, entrepreneurship, business, and marketing. |
Students are excited and nervous to present their unique ideas to professionals. This pushes them to do their best. They will surprise and delight with their innovative ideas. |
What to expect as a volunteer:
We need volunteers to provide feedback on May 2nd, 2018, from 5 to 7 pm.
Students will be stationed at tables with their presentations and prototypes (proof of concept). This will look similar to a science fair layout. The authentic volunteers will go from group to group providing feedback on ideas and presentation skills by filling out short forms and talking with the students. You will be given a brief overview upon arriving and time to answer any questions you have.

- Arrive when you can, the event starts at 5:00 pm and students will be ready. (parking and entrance directions can be found below)
- Enter through the STEM entrance
- sign / check in
- grab a name tag and clip board
- get a brief overview of the feedback form
- Visit with students and give them feedback on their ideas and presentation until you have to leave (7 pm is the end of the event and we would love to have your feedback the whole time so more kids can experience and practice talking with professionals)
- The order you go in does not matter. There will be colored forms so you can tell which students have not had a chance to present to a professional vs. a family member.
